Meet our Beach Wedding Caterers

We are delighted to introduce  our caterers for Beach Weddings Bournemouth.  Fish Face are based in Poundbury, Dorchester and have recently come on board as our dedicated caterers. We decided to work with Fish Face after being contacted by them and discussing our requirements to work with a catering company who had a “can do” attitude and a lot of experience with working on outside events and all the logistical challenges that beach weddings can present for a caterer.  To Matt and his team our requirements are all possible and well within their capabilities of being fulfilled and the crew at Beach Weddings Bournemouth are very excited to have Matt and Fish Face on board.

Matt Cook began Fish Face events three years ago after working at The Bull at Bridport most recently.  Matt began his life working in kitchens and developing his passion for food from the tender age of 13 at The Old Granary, Wareham.  He has since then worked around the UK and in Australia and one of his career highlights to date has been as Head Chef at Marco Pierre White’s The Talkhouse in Oxfordshire and taking it through the transitions of ownership.  Matt always knew that he would return to Dorset having lived here on and off all of his life and training at Bournemouth & Poole College.

Fish Face have a firm love of working outdoors and will be working in a rustic and simple way by cooking on charcoal and on a fabulous wood burning stove to avoid the need to bring power on to the beach.  This will only enhance the love of the sea and the outdoors which we are trying to bring to Beach Weddings Bournemouth.

“I am really looking forward to working with Melanie and her  Beach Weddings Bournemouth team on this exciting new project.  I have to admit I have not stopped talking about it,  since we began our conversations about working together.  We have been down to the site to discuss the future plans and have been working hard on coming up with some fabulous menus.  Our ideas for Beach Weddings Bournemouth is to keep food simple and rustic and use local produce wherever we can.

We are already hugely supportive of Buy Local and Taste of the West.  We have put together simple but delicious BBQ menus which are proving really popular with 2012 couples for Beach Weddings plus colourful and exciting buffet menus with local meats and fish and two choices of afternoon tea menus with homemade cakes, pastries and bowls of local strawberries served with clotted cream and home made scones with Dorset jam.  Its really proving to be what people want – local food with great service and not been too formal.  This is a very unique venue and we have the menus to match it.   I am thrilled to say that  2012 is going looking to be an amazing year for me and my business. With a new restaurant in Dorchester and being selected as the chosen caterers of  Beach Weddings Bournemouth,  I am very excited, and can’t wait to get started in 2012 season”
