Ahoy there me hearties!

Do you want to really embrace the location of your Beach Weddings Bournemouth wedding? A nautical theme is not only in keeping with the location but can look very classy too.

We initially have created a general mood board to inspire a nautical theme.

Whilst a nautical theme can look great for your Beach Wedding attire and accessories, this blog is going to focus on nautical styling for the dressing of your wedding. A nautical theme for attire and accessories will follow at a later date.

This chair sash is very simple but sooo effective! It really emphasises the classiness of a nautical theme.

A simply stunning cake! This take on the theme uses the nautical theme as inspiration but with a bit of a twist! It has real wow factor but without being over the top and too fussy.

Lobster and crab pots are great props to dress your Beach Wedding. Very rustic and nautical! Why not pop down to see your local fisherman and see if he would be willing to hire a couple to you for the day! If not there are companies you can hire them from.

A very sweet driftwood heart to hang. This would look beautiful hung in the middle of the Bride and Groom behind the top table. Driftwood looks very wild and romantic.

This would be a great welcome for guests hung in the entrance porch of our Beach Weddings Bournemouth marquee! Or why not hang it in the middle of the Bride and Groom behind the top table- it would create a great focus point and you would capture some great photos of the Bride and Groom sat in front of it. A real piece of nautical memorabilia.

Great idea for table numbers and a wonderful keepsake for you after your special day too!

Bunting works great to dress a room as it gives height to the room! Most styling is on the tables but its amazing how much difference dressing the ceiling can make- it really brings the whole space together.  This bunting is our very own which is in our Wedding Hut to dress it for your day as standard which was made by those talented ladies at Coastal Creatives

This is a fabulous idea. Use starfish as favours or as name places or both! Table look great laid up with these placed on every place on top of white folded napkins. Guests really appreciate little touches like this (especially if they can take them home!) and the children will love them too!

These navy and white striped hearts would be the perfect pew ends for a nautical themed wedding. We’re big fans of pew ends at Beach Weddings Bournemouth- they look great and add a really personal touch. Once the ceremony is finished they would look great pinned to the front of the top table or the present table.  We are currently having some made by a very clever lady we will be using for fabric pew ends so watch this space for images of some delightful hearts and ideas which you will be able to hire through ourselves or buy.

Start as you mean to go on- its a great idea to incorporate your theme throughout your whole wedding. Start your theme with your save the date card and invitations and give your guests a sneak preview of whats to come! It will get them really excited about being part of your special day. You can have some fun with your save the dates as they don’t need too much information so be creative and give your guests something fun to keep. Love these sail save the dates- very classy but fun at the same time!

A driftwood chest like this one we have at Beach Weddings Bournemouth is great for guests to leave your cards in. Or fill it with treasure and chocolate coins! The big kids will enjoy that just as much as the littlies!

For something a bit quirky, a message in the bottle can be fun and you make it yourself too, meaning you can personalise the message and make it inexpensive at the same time! This can also be a great alternative to a guestbook- leave some paper and a pen on each table and then get your guests to each post their own message into the bottle for you to look back on.

A simple change in the colour of the napkins can make a huge difference to the overall styling of the room. These blue and white striped ones are fab and add charm to your tables. The way the cutlery has been laid looks like a ships wheel, a very small change but a very big impact. The striking design allows for a very simple place name, perfectly finishing off this rustic nautical look.

A ships anchor is the epitome of nautical memorabilia. It would look great laid out or propped up in the corner of the room.  This carved driftwood anchor is a great option as it is much lighter and so easier to transport and it incorporates lots of nautical themes- anchor, driftwood and rope effect carving.

These oars would be great props to lean in the corner of the room.

Or go the whole hog and have a real boat to dress your room! Need we say more?!

Well yes actually, we must! Try a boat full of beer! Looks great and practical too! The novelty will really get your guests talking and its something they will remember about your day for a long time afterwards.

We really love lanterns at Beach Weddings Bournemouth- with lit candles they add softness and warmth to a room or fill them with shells and starfish like these and they make great centerpieces for your tables. They look amazing when used to line the aisle as well, creating a beautiful path for the Bridal entrance. We can then move them to your tables for your wedding breakfast.  We can also place larger lanterns on the decking and we have two lanterns you can have either side of the Registrars table during your ceremony.  We can now offer a lantern / candle package at Beach Weddings Bournemouth with silver nautical design as above and also white wooden edged as shown above right and with all different coloured votives / tea light holders complete with candles for your tables – so we can do all the hard work for you – enquire for further details.

We hope we’ve given you lots of ideas! If you want a classy beach theme, nautical is the way to go- it looks very elegant and chic!
