A couple of weeks ago we had the absolute pleasure of hosting Christine and Jason’s 1950’s themed wedding! Although we don’t have any professional photos we did take a few of our own amateur shots so please forgive us for them not being the best quality but we really wanted to share a few images of their day with you! It was such a relaxed and fun day but was still really special and a day that we hope Christine and Jason will cherish forever. And to top it all off- the sun came out for them!
Christine, Jason and their guests traveled all the way from Gillingham on the morning of the wedding so they hired a bus to escort all of their guests to Bournemouth. On arrival they were dropped off at the top of the Cliff Lift outside the Highcliff Marriott Hotel and were then treated to a ride in the Cliff Lift to the Beach Weddings Bournemouth site. Although Jason had already seen his Bride, we sent him down in the lift first and held Christine back until last to she could make her big entrance with her Dad. And Wow did she do just that! As Christine and Jason were just having their ceremony with us, they had hired the Chinese Hat marquee from Maidman’s marquees which meant that Christine’s entrance started the minute she stepped on the sand, so it was a rather long one! Christine was wearing a beautiful but fun (and against tradition, green- 50’s style prom dress and her and her Dad danced all the way down the seagrass carpet and onto the blue aisle in the marquee to the song ‘Do wah diddy’ (here she comes just a walking down the street) by Manfred Mann. Such fun and it really got everyone tapping their feet!
The ceremony was beautiful, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! The boys in the bridal party wore white shirts and red shorts with deck shoes and really looked the part! Whilst the Bridesmaids wore 1950’s prom dresses which exactly matched Christine’s but in white.
After the ceremony Jason and Christine treated all of their guests to Mr Whippy Ice Creams from the nearby kiosk. This was a real hit with the guests! Everyone started queuing up to make sure they all got one!
Jason and Christine were also brave enough to kick their shoes off and go for a paddle in the sea!
We couldn’t miss the opportunity to get a photo of Christine with the local Lifeguard!
Sadly after the ice creams it was time for us to say goodbye as it was time for Jason and Christine and all their guests to head back up the cliff in the lift and back onto the bus back to Gillingham for afternoon tea and a 1950’s party!
It was a wonderful, fun day which I think we enjoyed just as much as Jason and Christine and all their guests!
The Beach Weddings Bournemouth crew wish Christine and Jason lots of happiness for the future!
