B-e-a-utiful Bunting!

Quite a few of our recent weddings at Beach Weddings Bournemouth have had bunting to style their marquees and we LOVE it!

Bunting adds height to the styling of your marquee as it brings colour above table height. Bunting looks fab in any venue but works particularly well in marquees as it adds colour to the ivory livings which although very beautiful can look a little plain. Putting up bunting in our smaller drinks marquee for your drinks reception also works really well as then your theme runs throughout the venue. As the drinks marquee is a space for mingling there are no tables and chairs to dress so putting up bunting really brightens the space and ties it in to the main marquee. If you do opt for bunting, be careful not to make the tables too busy or full of colour or the room can feel over powered and cluttered!

Theres bunting available to fit every theme and colour so here are a few of our favourites. If you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for then try making your own! The time and effort taken to make bunting gives it a really personal feel.

Coastal Creatives made this beautiful vintage bunting for one of our couples. They have bunting available to hire in lots of different colour schemes and make it all by hand themselves! If they don’t have bunting already made to match your colour scheme then they will make it for you!

This chalk board bunting is brilliant! Personalise your message or even use it as an alternative to a guest book and ask your guests to leave you a message on a triangle of bunting. It will create something beautiful for you to display in your home after your special day, but make sure you use a chalk pen so the writing doesn’t rub off!

Pew end passion

Pew ends are great as they allow decoration and your theme to be incorporated into your ceremony and can make it look really magical and romantic. Pew ends are often overlooked or not thought about but we love them! They can really bring a whole theme together and ensure that it runs throughout the whole day, not just for the wedding breakfast. At Beach Weddings Bournemouth, having pew ends allows you to personalise the blank space that the beautiful marquee offers.

During our first season, we have seen some beautiful pew ends and even some home made ones!

Floral pew ends are always a winner- Arcade flowers have made some very stunning displays in zinc buckets for us this year- they look very striking!

Beautiful pink roses in cute pails by Arcade flowers

We loved these sunflowers at Gemma and Lee’s wedding- the Sunflowers were grown in Gemma’s Grandad’s garden which was a lovely personal touch.

These rustic rose plants were a beautiful touch at Lucy and Tim’s wedding- its an unusual idea to have whole plants as pew ends as opposed to just the flowers but it looked great and they were perfect for then using as the table centres for the wedding breakfast.

Having said that using whole plants as pew ends is an unusual idea, it has been popular at Beach Weddings Bournemouth this year! Louise and Richard chose these wonderfully romantic daises with little windmills for that seaside touch!

Jam jars are the perfect size for pew ends and give a really nostalgic feel. One of our couples used baked bean cans to make their pew ends- they looked great with brightly coloured ribbon wrapped around them.

If you don’t want floral pew ends, hanging decorations look great too. You can use just about anything you wish which means you can always find something to suit your theme!

Heart shaped pew ends are very popular- here are some of our favourites.

So, maybe not suitable for a beach wedding but if you’re having a Christmas wedding then Christmas stockings will look very cute and festive as pew ends.

These beautiul starfish and Seagrass pew ends were made by Coastal Creatives for our Autumn Open Day. They have a beachey feel yet still feel very romantic, especially teamed with the soft and whimsical bunches of gypsophila by Arcade flowers

Want a real nautical theme to your wedding day? These glass buoys look great and very nautical.

These mini windmills are just perfect for a seaside themed wedding and perfect for keeping the little ones happy after the ceremony.

Hope we’ve given you lots of ideas!
